Video games have been a big part of my life since I was a child. I started out playing PC games (mainly edutainment) on my family computers.
I did end up getting some used consoles, such as an SNES (that mysteriously vanished) and a PS1. However, what got me into games beyond a casual appreciation was when my family got a Wii.
I had found out about The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time from YouTube videos, and thought it looked really cool. When I found out about OoT being on the Wii Virtual Console, I bought it.
Since then, I have gotten into many different game series, and played through a huge backlog of older games. I've also gotten a bunch of older systems throughout the years.
You can see my physical game library on my Backloggery.
Here's a list of the game systems I have in order of release:
As you might have noticed, I have way more handhelds than consoles. I much prefer handhelds due to their flexibility of use, especially the DS and 3DS families.
I am also into hacking my systems (mainly handhelds) for homebrew and custom firmware. I have hacked all of my 3DSs, my PSP, my PS Vita, my Wii, and my Switch.
I mainly do it for emulators, but I also use utility apps for things like screenshots, capture software, and overclocking.
Hacking aside, I also enjoy speedrunning games. My main speedgame is Trip World, a platformer developed by Sunsoft for the Game Boy.
I also speedrun SteamWorld Heist, and Home Alone 2: Lost in New York for the Nintendo Game Boy. I irregularly stream speedruns on my Twitch.
Onto what games I am a fan of. I enjoy most every genre of games, and so I have a bunch of different ones I love.
